Come and stay with us at Tongariro Holiday Park – the world acclaimed Tongariro Crossing is practically on our doorstep! Tongariro Holiday Park is nestled amidst stunning bush, at the feet of 3 magnificent mountains – Ngaruhoe (‘Mt Doom’ in the Lord of the Rings), Tongariro and Ruapehu – and surrounded by a maze of lakes and rivers. The Tongariro crossing (touted as New Zealand’s best one day walk and attracting over 100,000 visitors a year) is very close by, so we make the ideal spot to stay if you want a challenging hike, experiencing this one day adventure. We also offer guests and other travellers a Car Ferrying service to and from the Tongariro crossing track. When snow blankets the mountains and ranges in winter, Tongariro Holiday Park is the perfect spot to head for a skiing or snowboarding holiday, with equipment hire right on site. And after a long day traversing the Tongariro crossing or hitting the slopes, you can come ‘home’ to our park, hang your mountain gear in the drying room and soak your tired muscles in our hot spa pool. Summer brings new pleasures to Tongariro Holiday Park– lakes and rivers abound for you to swim, kayak, raft or go Trout fishing in, and there is a plethora of walking tracks, whether you want to stroll a short distance to a hidden waterfall for a swim, or head out on a more serious trekking experience.
