Remarks

Glacier Country in the South West New Zealand World Heritage area is home to the Franz Josef Glacier and Fox Glacier, two of the world’s most famous glaciers. They are living remnants of the ice ages which continue to carve a spectacular landscape as they advance from the high snowfields of the Southern Alps of the South Island below the peaks of Mount Cook and Mount Tasman. These glaciers are quite unique as they progress downwards, sometimes up to one metre a day through lush West Coast rainforests to their terminal face just 300 metres above the Tasman Sea. Franz Josef TOP 10 Holiday Park is a member of the Holiday Accommodation Parks Association of New Zealand.
